Music by @SlantyEyedMama
Comedy by @KateRigg

Everyone is hashtagging diversity, white-washing in Hollywood, yellow-face, Emma Stone, The Ghost in the Shell, Tilda Swinton, Matt Damon climbing the Great Wall, the Asian kids with suitcases at the Oscars, John Cho Memes so its time to come see THIS:

Warning: Strong Language. Political Commentary. Hello Kitty. Puns.

The Show: East meets West in this mashup of stand up comedy, electric violin, rock n roll,  spoken word and characters from iconic New York comedy and music duo Slanty Eyed Mama.  Its about race and represent-Asian: identity politics, bowl cuts, Chinatown, nail salon paradoxes, Hello Kitty hats, gay pokemons, math nerds, street vendors, those gold cats with waving arms.  Meet a 40 year old Asian cheerleader, a ten thousand year old performance artist in a laundry mat, a race-undertermined / age-unknown subway vendor with big dreams under her umbrella-hat.

Music is by Slanty Eyed Mama A rock n roll spoken word duo featuring electric violin, samples and beats by Juilliard virtuoso Lyris Hung and comedic, political, lyrical wordplay from one of new yorks most celebrated solo performers (and fellow Juilliard graduate) Kate Rigg. They are two good Asian girls gone bad-assed.

This show features songs like MODEL MINORITY, WHITE GIRL PROBLEMS, BOWL CUT BLUES and THE HELLO KITTY SONG. Their previous comedy music show Birth of a nASIAN was invited to the Smithsonian Institute and shot for Comedy Centrals online portal. They have been seen on PBS, Comedy Central, Pacific Time TV, LA Grand Performances and now in the movie version of Happy Lucky Golden Tofu Panda Dragon Good Time Fun Fun Show is on the festival circuit in 2016 for general release in 2017. www.slantyeyedmama.com

Kate Rigg: Also the writer-creator cult hit Kates Chinkorama featuring the chinkorama dancers.  Did 2 seasons on the Dr. Phil Show as a comedy correspondent.  Club stand-up comic. Actor about town (Atlantic Theater Co, The Public, MTC, NYTW etc.) Award winning playwright. Voices on Foxs Family Guy. Played with Bryan Adams, Jay Z, Quincy Jones, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Toshi Reagon, Suzanne Vega, and currently tours regularly with the Indigo Girls. www.lyrishung.com
